Il percorso per il ricordo & la pace
La "Camminata per la Memoria e la Pace" è un'iniziativa cittadina nata per unire persone di tutte le nazioni in una camminata attraverso i campi di battaglia e le città della Sicilia, allo scopo di ricordare il sacrificio di coloro che hanno combattuto e sono morti per la libertà e la pace e di quei civili catturati nelle linee di battaglia.
The proposed walking trail will travel over 200 kilometers connecting Sicilian towns from Piazza Armerina to Adrano along the path taken by the 1st Canadian Division in 1943. This marked trail, complete with educational plaques and a website, is intended to attract military tourism, including students from Canada and around the world.
I partecipanti potranno percorrere tutti o alcuni dei campi di battaglia e dei paesi della provincia di Enna, conoscendo la storia violenta dell'estate del 1943 e la difficilissima ma riuscitissima ricostruzione della società siciliana grazie agli sforzi dei siciliani e del Governo Militare Alleato dei Territori Occupati (AMGOT) in Sicilia.
